Digital Shevington

The positive aspects of Technology are becoming more important and helping us to keep in touch. Here’s some help – we all it need it at times. 😊

‘Switch On IT’ Helpdesk

Are you struggling with IT? Do you want to Zoom with friends or Facetime your family but don't know where to start?

For two months, starting from 9th September, Age UK Wigan have a Switch On IT Helpdesk, where we will talk you through how to get going. If you, or people you know are struggling with IT, please ring us on 01942 615880 to get booked in for your initial 45 minute helpdesk appointment. AgeUK Wigan September Newsletter . . . can be found here.

A team of TechMate volunteers are being trained by Wigan Council to support the community to learn essential digital skills, helping to reduce digital exclusion and social isolation. You can volunteer to help . . . here. You need just a little confidence with IT and an hour or so a week to help others.

Shevington Digital Classes – ‘Computers for the Terrified’ and ‘Moving On’

Whilst the time isn’t yet quite right to get these really popular classes up and running again, they will be back! The volunteers who organise these classes will let you know as soon as they can.
