Shevington Community Events Digital Notice Board at Shevington Library

This is a free service run by volunteers. No responsibility can be accepted for any issues resulting from incorrect information displayed on the board.

The display board is for community social events and aspects of community welfare. All local events may be accepted for timetable display, unless they are of a particularly commercial nature.

In addition the timetable screens will alternate with displays featuring individual local organisations and events. Churches, sports clubs, dance groups and others could feature all of their events, practices or services in these. This would include any organisations established for local community benefit, e.g. health and welfare services, police services, carers support services, dependency and addiction services. Please send PNG, JPEG or BMP images in landscape format at 1080px x 1920px aspect ratio to shevca@blueyonder.co.uk.

If you wish your event to be displayed on the board, please fill in the form. . . here.

Events will be listed in order of their start times. Two hours after the start time at the top of the screen, the top event(s) will scroll up and off the board.

There is a Google Calendar for internet users, “What’s on in Shevington”, which contains additional information about your event which won’t be on the screen. Please add the extra information on the form. This should include the finish time of the event, the address of your venue with postcode, your website if you have one, email contact addresses, and anything else you want people to know. You may wish to include your event’s contact phone number as this won't be copied from the screen. This extra information will be duplicated to all recurring events. Please don’t ask for some of the extra information to be adapted for different dates.

The Display Board will show:-
Day / Date / Start time / Name of event / Venue / Contact phone number. All of these are obligatory.

This calendar will run to December 31st each year; you will need to apply again in December for your events to continue to be listed in the following year.

Important – recurring events. Please make sure that you specify exactly all the dates when recurring events will, or will not, happen, even if you think it is obvious (e.g. "not December 25th"). If your events are on Mondays, don’t forget about Bank Holidays. Exact dates are required; statements such as "term time only" are not sufficiently precise.
